Bradley - age 9

March 30, 2009 | Posted by: Julie Cruz | Category: Previews

Bradley was the winner of the Zuri Modeling contest I held in February.....and Lindsay (of http://www.zurimodelandtalent.com/) sure knows how to pick them because Bradley was AMAZING in front of the camera. Not only is he adorable, but he's very well mannered, sweet, takes direction well (in fact so well that most of the time I didn't even need to tell him what to do, he was just a natural) and never complained about a single thing. He was absolutely AWESOME to shoot. I'm sure we will be seeing him in stores, magazines, etc in no time!  Congrats again Bradley!

Beginning April 17th, 2009, all sessions NOT previously booked (deposits received) will have new pricing (see pricing page).   All pre-booked (deposits made) sessions for 2009 will still have the original pricing honored, so if you have already booked and I have received your deposit, don't worry...you will still be charged the original pricing.  Any shoots booked (deposits received) AFTER April 16th, 09 will be booked with the new pricing.

BUT............

*From now until APRIL 16th, 2009, I will be extending this deal, so if you would like a shoot with the original pricing, book BEFORE April 16th, 2009!
With only about 15 spots left to book for 2009, it's time for you to hop on this deal since spots will go fast!!   :)

Sam - age 4

March 25, 2009 | Posted by: Julie Cruz | Category: Previews

Yesterday evening I had the pleasure of photographing Sam and his parents. Sam and I hit it off immediately, especially since we were both wearing our black Chucks ;)  We laughed, giggled, sang songs, did movie quotes, etc....and Sam was SUCH an awesome little model.  This family was so cute and natural that I didn't have to tell them anything, they just had fun...and the results were great.  Oh and although you can't even tell.....Sam will be a big brother later on this year!  ;)

Oh and here's my first "official" post kicking off the new larger photos I can post now :)

My new buddy and I.........

I told Sam to pick any place he wanted to take a pic....and check out the super model......

Sam was quite excited to see that mom had brought him a giant lollipop :)

Another year, another party........

March 23, 2009 | Posted by: Julie Cruz | Category: My Life

Is it bad that i'm secretly hoping that PJ asks for a Chuck E Cheese birthday party next year? ;)

Considering i've been sick for over a week, my head felt like a bowling ball, my nose ran non stop, and I had a major sinus headache....PJ's party turned out pretty well. Luckily we had great weather (although a little windy....and SUPER bright), but thank goodness it didn't rain (or hail!) this year.   A HUGE thank you to our family and friends who helped out. Since I was sick, I asked for help with baking and stuff, and didn't have to bake a single thing (thanks Mary, Ed and Jeff!)! Set up was all with the help of my best friends, my brother in laws, my sisters, my niece and Mark of course.   I know some of these pics are pretty blown out, etc, but cut me some slack....it was brighter than bright and I felt like crap...all while trying to play host, mom AND photographer ;)   I didn't mess with these much, mostly just bumping up contrast and some color......

The b-day girl thinking about what she wanted to paint......

A big THANK YOU to Sally of http://www.polka-dot-market.com/
for sending PJ the adorable "4" shirt she's wearing, as well as an adorable skirt (but it was a little chilly out, so PJ asked for jeans) and a super cute "Happy Birthday Banner" (first pic I posted, as well as some of these below).

Another huge thanks goes out to our wonderful friend family member Jeff who once again killed it with an amazing birthday cake. This tme it was a cupcake tower topped off with a mini cake.  Since I know people will be asking for his info (again) - here it is:  rhinocakeco@hotmail.com

It was so big that we had to put PJ on the table so she could blow out the candles!.......

Another grande THANK YOU to Rachel of http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5744498
for the adorable custom made birthday hat!!  Rachel makes awesome custom stuff and has even made things for celebrities like Halle Berry and Joely Fisher!!
Thanks to Sally & Rachel, I had to do NOTHING about finding PJ a b-day outfit. They supplied the tee and hat, and PJ picked out the jeans and shoes :)  I'll have to do some REAL pics of PJ in the ENTIRE outfit (skirt, tee and hat) when I get a chance and am feeling better.

Speaking of yummy goodness, did you know that race car drivers can BAKE too?....and from scratch!? ;) Thanks Uncle Ed for the yummy chocolate chip cookies!!! ......

A few more of the adorable guests.........

Another giant thanks to my wonderful sister of http://www.eitak.com/
for once again doing amazing face painting..........

Besides painting pots, face painting, tattoos, bubbles, pinata, etc, we also had butterfly cookies for the kids to decorate. This one was my favorite, and was made by miss Mia (right above, eating the cupcake) ;) hehehe......

Pinata time! Check out PJ's stance! LOL.....

Cousin Isaac taking a swing....

Goodies for the kiddos to take home...........

My brother in law helped out by taking pictures as well, so hopefully he got some good ones that I can share in a few days.

The most GINORMOUS thank you to all of those who made it out. We tried to "keep it small" this year...but yeah, apparently we failed to remember that when you're asian....there is no such thing as a "small" party ;) Family alone is already half the guest list ;)   Fingers crossed for Chuck E Cheese next year ;)

On another note, now that i'm off vacation, shoots will be starting up like crazy tomorrow, so be sure to check back for sneak peeks since I have shoots tomorrow, Sunday, next Wednesday, next Saturday, the following Monday, etc, etc, etc :)

*BOOKINGS* (schedule)............

March 19, 2009 | Posted by: Julie Cruz | Category: Previews

I'm thinking of adding some type of page that notes my current booking status (not a calendar, but basically something like below which shows how many SPOTS I have left), but in the mean time, here is what I currently have available (spot-wise) for the rest of the year:

*March* - BOOKED

*April* - BOOKED

*May* - BOOKED

*June* - 6 5 spots left

*July* - 2 spots left

*August* - 3-4 spots left

*September* - 6 5 spots left

*October* - ONE spot left  BOOKED

*November* - ONE spot left

*December* - 2 spots left (but this is all I will be taking this month, and it will be during the first week of December only)

As you can see, October and November each only have ONE spot left, so if you'd like a fall/holiday shoot, email me a.s.a.p.  I will not be able to do a bunch of "squeeze ins" this fall/holiday. Last year I nearly killed myself doing so, in between the million family birthdays we have in Oct/Nov/Dec, as well as Halloween, Thanksgiving, holiday cards, holiday shopping, holiday parties and Christmas....so I promised myself I would not do the same this year :) Family time is very important to me as well, so please plan ahead :)

Thanks, and I hope to hear from you! :)
